HAMILTON, ONTARIO (May 30, 2023) – VitroPlus and UniglassPlus, leaders in the auto glass repair and replacement industry, raised over $80,000 for the Breakfast Club of Canada through their spring auto glass campaign.
The annual fundraiser ran from mid-February to mid-April. This year’s promotion enabled VitroPlus and UniglassPlus franchise owners across the country to donate 12 nutritious breakfasts for every windshield repair or replacement performed at their centres. This doubled last year’s total. After raising nearly $40,000 in the spring of 2022, the network set an ambitious new goal and more than doubled their impact in 2023, raising a total of $84,818. This charitable contribution translates to nearly 170,000 breakfasts that will help fuel learning for children across Canada.
“I’m pleased to see this fundraiser grow year after year and proud of the exceptional commitment shown by our owners and community,” said Maurice Filion, President of Uniban. “We are honoured to work closely with the Breakfast Club of Canada and support its mission to nourish children so they can reach their full potential.”
In Canada, 1 in 3 children is at risk of going to school on an empty stomach. Research shows that a nutritious breakfast not only fuels the body and brain for learning but also helps improve diet quality, physical activity, and self-esteem.
“Our organisation is grateful for the significant support provided by UniglassPlus, VitroPlus, and their communities,” said Natalie Charette, Director of Major and Planned Giving at the Breakfast Club of Canada. “This generous act helps us move closer to our ultimate goal: providing every child with breakfast, every day.”
The VitroPlus and UniglassPlus franchise networks are proud to continue supporting the Breakfast Club of Canada through a similar initiative this fall. From Friday, September 1 to Tuesday, October 31, each rust protection treatment will contribute eight breakfasts to children in need.
